  • Using the Mac Mini for a presentation.
  • This year we will be covering: biology, chemistry, environmental science, meteorology and astronomy. On average there will be at least 1 lab per week. Homework will be as needed. Usually, when we are doing labs there will be no homework. 1 project per semester.

  • This course will provide information and tools to assist students with the sixth grade curriculum.
  • Students will use the skills and strategies of the reading process to comprehend,interpret,evaluate,and appreciate what they have read .Students will also write to express their ideas and emotions,to describe theirĀ  experiences and expand Better Answer format including constructed response development and practice.

  • In grade 6, we will be continuing to use the Everyday Math series with which students and you are familiar. Major concepts taught in 6th grade math include operations with fractions, decimals and percents, problem solving, and pre-algebra concepts (variables, simple equations). Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday nights, and generally will be a Study Link worksheet or Math Boxes page in the math journal. After school math help will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Encourage your child to make use of this opportunity for extra help/review.
  • English/Language Arts coursework for grade 6 students. Focus of the class will be on reading comprehension, literature analysis, writing, daily grammar and spelling. To support the class curriculum, students will be required to read at least 30 minutes each evening, with a goal of completing 4 self-selected books each trimester.
